330 TRABECULECTOMIES A LONG TIME STUDY (3–5½ YEARS)

摘要: 281 eyes out of 330 were followed during 3 to 5 1/2 years after trabeculectomy. 32 drop-outs due death and 17 inability participate in the examination program. The mean age at time surgery was 66 years. A pre-operative IOP 31 mmHg dropped a post-operative level 18 mmHg. In 57% single trabeculectomy considered enough control glaucoma. Post-operative medical treatment necessary 35%. 87% progress field defect arrested. reoperation performed 8%. early complications very few, but 25% slowly developing cataract observed. extraction 29 post trabeculectomiam with favourable visual outcome. This study confirms opinion that is an atraumatic efficient surgical procedure therapeutic measure when tolerable combination antiglaucoma drugs proves insufficient
