摘要: Abstract In spite of several studies showing that roe deer typically achieve higher population densities in openings or younger forest stands, there do not appear to be any reporting the response a single habitat change. this paper results 25-year study population, which was subject significant levels culling, predation ungulate competition are presented. Following planting with conifers (which mostly 1961–1962), canopy cover increased, most rapidly between 8 and 15 years after planting. Ground vegetation negatively correlated cover. The increased from 46 km−2 76 4 13 planting, it declined sharply 34 km−2. A negative cross-correlation found conifer density lag 6 years, indicating decline numbers lagged behind browse supply. rate recruitment without indication lag. main food plant species (bramble Rubus fruticosus), much greater than density, implying were forced change their diet perhaps also patterns selection structure.
