摘要: Twelve percent of 596 men presenting to a sexually transmitted disease clinic had positive urethral cultures for Chlamydia trachomatis, and 53% microimmunofluorescent antibody chlamydia. Prevalence C. trachomatis infection was greater in heterosexual than homosexual (14% versus 5%; p less 0.01), under 20 years age, blacks. Only 10% with gonococcal lacked symptoms or signs urethritis, whereas nearly 25% no symptoms, 33% abnormal numbers leukocytes on Gram stain, 50% were identified treated solely the basis screening culture. The number newly diagnosed cases found by 1.3 per 100 gonorrhea but 5.5 chlamydial infection. Clinicians appropriately 91% urethritis their initial visit before culture results available only 51% Asymptomatic infections eventually contribute women, detection appears warranted high-risk populations.
