摘要: High leptin levels are often observed in human obesity and implicated obesity-related hypertension. Leptin have been found to be higher hypertensive obese African-American women compared normotensive women, but a direct association between blood pressure could not obtained. Additionally, increased adiposity has associated with aortic stiffness was included the study. The effects of on cardiovascular function African yet determined. We hypothesised that is directly decreased arterial compliance significantly overweight/obese women. A case-case control study performed which 98 subjects were divided into lean (lean NT), (OW/OB NT) HT). Finometer apparatus used obtain more elaborate profile. Serum insulin as well HOMA-IR index Various anthropometric measures elevated (P < or = 0.05) OW/OB NT HT groups group, similar groups. After adjusting for obesity, resistance, hyperinsulinaemia age, positive correlation obtained systolic (SBP) 0.05; r 0.68) group. also correlated negatively (P< -0.76) positively pulse 0.71) In conclusion, even though same SBP C(W) only independent insulin-resistance, age.
