摘要: Predisposition to melanoma is genetically heterogeneous. Two high penetrance susceptibility genes, CDKN2A and CDK4, have so far been identified mapping ongoing localize identify others. With the advent of a catalogue millions potential DNA polymorphisms, attention now also being focused on identification genes that confer more modest contribution risk, such as those encoding proteins involved in pigmentation, repair, cell growth differentiation or detoxification metabolites. One pigmentation gene, MC1R, has not only found be low gene but shown act genetic modifier risk individuals carrying mutations. Most recently, an environmental agent, ultraviolet radiation, established mutation carriers. Hence, turning out excellent paradigm for studying gene-gene gene-environment interactions.
