摘要: The purpose of this research was to empirically derive a typology obese persons and validate derived in earlier (Allison & Heshka [1991] International Journal Obesity). Biological, behavioral, psychological variables were assessed through survey among 719 (641 females, 78 males) members National Association Advance Fat Acceptance (NAAFA). All subjected principal components analyses which extracted 12 biological components. A two-cluster solution from k-means clustering on replicated via Ward's method. Agreement between the solutions significant (Phi = .33, Kappa .19, p < .05). validated entering component scores into discriminant analysis. One function (p .001) substantially separated clusters. measuring early onset/familial history powerfully discriminated Early onset more obese, active, restricted caloric intake greater degree. Late likely be "settled down," engage substance abuse, eat at night, have diabetes Results consistent with those prior research.
