摘要: Scanning electron microscopy, sometimes supplemented with transmission was used to study the ultrastructural morphology of extrapulmonary respiratory tract. Material for observation taken from male rat tracts which were fixed in situ and critical point-dried. Goblet cells, brush potential ciliated cornified vestibule cells olfactory mucosa could be distinguished by their characteristic surface morphologies. The distribution these various cell types throughout tract is described. Transmission microscopy material treated ruthenium red reveals that a polyanionic layer coats all cilia, microvilli intervening surfaces on found nasal cavities, trachea bronchi.
