摘要: The respiratory and cardiovascular systems are highly intertwined, both anatomically physiologically. Respiratory neurons often co-localized in the same brainstem regions, this is particularly evident ventral medulla which contains presympathetic rostral ventrolateral medulla, premotor parasympathetic cardioinhibitory nucleus ambiguus, group, includes pre-Botzinger complex. Anatomical studies of have demonstrated that many these projections axon collateral processes extend into their neighboring cardiorespiratory regions providing an anatomical substrate for interactions. As other reports Special Issue Physiology & Neurobiology focus on interactions between network baroreceptors, tractus solitarius, sympathetic activity, report will modulation activity generate to heart, cardiac vagal neurons.
