摘要: The current trend is to allow coeliac disease (CD) patients introduce oats their gluten free diet. We sought further data from the clinical setting with regards consumption by patients. Several oat products were tested for wheat contamination using a commercial enzyme linked immunoassay (ELISA) kit, and six samples examined an ELISA cocktail of monoclonal antibodies, mass spectrometry, western blot analysis. Nineteen adult CD on diet challenged 50 g per day 12 weeks. Serological testing gastroduodenoscopy was performed before after challenge. Biopsies scored histologically levels mRNA specific interferon γ determined reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction Oats well tolerated most but several reported initial abdominal discomfort bloating. One developed partial villous atrophy rash during first She subsequently improved subtotal dramatic dermatitis second Five showed positive Some concerns therefore remain respect safety coeliacs.
