摘要: Abstract Many papers have been published to devise models describe the sources of large and medium scale atmospheric gravity waves (AGWs) in auroral oval ionosphere. One proposed by Chimonas Hines [(1970) Planet. Space Sci. 18 , 565] calculated relative importance Lorentz force Joule heating as AGWs regions based on certain assumptions. In this paper, we develop a general theory behavior AGW source terms. It has found that terms which generate are closely related velocities frequencies AGWs, is dominant generating vertical velocity perturbation AGWs. The formulas determine term contributions derived. This relationship gives us possibility predict what kind will be generated observing terms, or conversely perhaps deduce some characteristics measuring properties traveling ionospheric disturbances (TIDs).
