摘要: In the traditional system of medicine, roots and rhizomes Glycyrrhiza glabra have been employed clinically for centuries their anti-inflammatory, anti-ulcer, expectorant, antimicrobial, anxiolytic activities. The present study was undertaken to investigate effects G. glabra, popularly known as liquorice (Mulathi), on learning memory. elevated plus-maze passive avoidance paradigm were evaluate memory parameters. Three doses (75, 150, 300 mg/kg p.o.) aqueous extract administered 7 successive days in separate groups mice. dose 150 significantly improved Furthermore, this reversed amnesia induced by diazepam (1 i.p.), scopolamine (0.4 ethanol g/kg i.p.). Anti-inflammatory antioxidant properties may be contributing favorably enhancement effect. Since scopolamine-induced liquorice, it is possible that beneficial effect because facilitation cholinergic transmission brain. However, further studies are necessitated identify exact mechanism action. investigation, has shown promise a enhancer both exteroceptive interoceptive behavioral models
