摘要: Attempts to rear the larvae of P. maxima from egg up metamorphosis are described. A simple apparatus for continuous culture unicellular algae was developed. Local were isolated as possible foods but none those available promoted rapid larval growth. Maximum gonad development occurs in period September-March. induce spawning ripe oysters unsuccessful. Artificial fertilization accomplished during treatment stripped gametes with ammonium hydroxide. Large numbers produced mortality high. Early straight-hinged approximately 75 by 70 µ, and pediveliger stage reached when 130 110 µ. The fastest rate growth recorded fed on a mixture Isochrysis Monochrysis. variety substrata offered settlement not completed. Further studies required before feasibility commercial rearing can be assessed.
