摘要: Background The pig-to-non-human primate model is the standard choice for in vivo studies of organ and cell xenotransplantation. In 1998, Lambrigts his colleagues surveyed entire world literature reported all experimental this model. With increasing number genetically engineered pigs that have become available during past few years, being utilized ever more frequently. Methods We now reviewed again compiled data we been able to find period January 1, 1998 December 31, 2013, a 16 yr. Results The are presented transplants heart (heterotopic orthotopic), kidney, liver, lung, islets, neuronal cells, hepatocytes, corneas, artery patches, skin. Heart, and, particularly, islet xenograft survival increased significantly since 1998. Discussion The reasons briefly discussed. A comment on limitations has made, particularly with regard those will affect progression xenotransplantation toward clinic.
