Classifying emotion: a developmental account

摘要: The aim of this paper is to propose a systematic classification emotions which can also characterize their nature. first challenge we address the submission clear criteria for theory that determine mental phenomena are and not. We suggest as subclass states determined by functional roles. second main presentation account all existing varieties. argue must classify according four developmental stages: 1. pre-emotions unfocussed expressive emotion states, 2. basic emotions, 3. primary cognitive 4. secondary emotions. types (fear, anger, joy sadness) systematically differentiated into diversity more complex during emotional development. distinguishes between non-basic our multi-factorial considers cognitive, experiential, physiological behavioral parameters relevant constituting an emotion. However, each type constituted typical pattern some features may be significant than others. Emotions differ strongly where these patterns concerned, while essential roles same. form unified ontological category coherent well defined characteristic Our supported data from psychology, neurobiology, evolutionary biology sociology.
