摘要: Abstract Background . Partial left ventriculectomy has been proposed for treatment of severe cardiomyopathies. This study reports midterm results this procedure in 37 patients with dilated cardiomyopathy. Methods All were New York Heart Association class III (16) or IV (21). was associated mitral annuloplasty 27 and replacement 2. Results There seven operative deaths (18.9%). During a mean follow-up 18.2 ± 9.3 months, 9 more died. Actuarial survival 56.7% 8.1% at 6 24 months. Analysis factors influencing outcome showed that significantly affected only by myocardial cell diameter. Otherwise, functional improved from 3.5 0.5 to 1.8 0.9 the survivors ( p Conclusions improves ventricular function congestive heart failure cardiomyopathy up months follow-up. Nevertheless, procedure's clinical application is limited high mortality observed first postoperative new perspectives may be advised identification partial seem influenced compromised cells.
