摘要: Objectives: While partial left ventriculectomy (PLV) may improve functional status, the duration and determinants of this improvement are poorly known. This study sought to assess relationship between ventricular (LV) shape function status in late survivors after PLV for non-ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). Methods: We assessed relations LV 17 consecutive patients who survived .12 months DCM. Invasive diagnostic studies were performed before, early after, at mid-term PLV. According their follow-up, divided into responders (na 10) or non-responders 7). Results: After PLV, systolic major-to-minor axis ratio was higher early, mid-, follow-up (Pa 0:003, Pa 0:008 0:04, respectively). circumferential end-diastolic stress decreased but increased afterwards only 0:049). ejection fraction similar two groups baseline, mid-follow-up, lower 0:006). However, enddiastolic end-systolic volumes, showed no difference groups. Conclusions :I t appears that poor capacity post-PLV is related postoperative geometry. q 2001 Elsevier Science B.V.
