摘要: Abstract The effects of microplastic on mortality and sublethal responses larval development meroplankton are still largely unknown. Present study investigated the four sizes virgin spherical polystyrene microplastics (diameter 1.7, 6.8, 10.4, 19.0 μm) naupliar (stage II-VI) cypris larvae barnacle Amphibalanus amphitrite at environmentally relevant concentrations (1, 10, 100, 1000 beads mL−1). Essential life-history traits, including mortality, time rates growth, settling, metamorphosis were measured throughout entire development. Feeding experiments conducted to evaluate if decreased feeding due physical impacts or selective nauplii. results showed that A. stage II nauplii able ingest efficiently egest all microplastics. All endpoints not significantly affected by any concentration tested. Presence did cause interference stages nauplius III-VI) selectively feed However, ability III appeared be 1.7 μm at mL−1 which was possibly individual variations rather than microplastics’ impacts. Overall, full under laboratory condition.
