Multivariable regression models identified contribution (what parents do with their children) measures adjusting more (e.g., family material wealth) as well 15 months verbal comprehension, vocabulary grammar (word combinations) age. Outcome results In final multivariable earlier factors, co-varying factors predicted 36% variance vocabulary, 22% 27% word combinations years. Language remained significant predictor outcomes 24 months. Environmental associated scales picture was rather mixed suggesting there may be mechanisms underlying processes. Conclusions implications This study supports argument advantage makes strong The suggest what parents/carers critical even when structural such housing have taken into consideration although this relationship varies language. potential inform targeting public health interventions focusing on pre-literacy one hand home learning environments other and, potentially, two combination.
