摘要: The fauna of termites (Isoptera) preserved in the early Miocene Foulden Maar fossil lagerstatte, Otago, southern New Zealand, is described and figured. Six genera species, inclusive Stolotermes kupe Kaulfuss et al. (Stolotermitidae), are now known from Zealand; most attributable to Kalotermitidae (drywood termites) one, left as family incertae sedis, has kalotermitid-like traits. new taxa established Waipiatatermes matatoka Engel & gen. sp. nov., Taieritermes krishnai Otagotermes novazealandicus nov. Pterotermopsis fouldenica affinities discussed, highlighting composition uniqueness fauna, absence Neoisoptera possibility that these species were relicts basal Kalotermitidae.
