Plasma clearance of L- and D-lactate in steers fed alfalfa hay or high concentrate diets.

摘要: Experiments were conducted with 40 steers to evaluate the effects of diet (alfalfa hay vs high concentrate) on rates elimination D- and L-lactate from plasma. Plasma L- D-lactate clearance determined before (Period I) 114 d after II) an abrupt switch alfalfa concentrate diet. One group received throughout experiment. Diet or period did not alter rate disappearance plasma; half-life was 13.5 15.5 min. plasma followed exponential decay curve at least two components; however, calculated disappearance.
