摘要: Cellular hydration can change within minutes under the influence of hormones, nutrients, and oxidative stress. Such short-term modulation cell volume a narrow range acts per se as potent signal which modifies cellular metabolism gene expression. It appears that swelling shrinkage lead to certain opposite patterns metabolic function. Apparently, hormones amino acids trigger those simply by altering volume. Thus alterations may represent another important mechanism for control act second or third messenger linking function hormonal environmental alterations.
