摘要: A Descriptive Study of the Impact Planning Time on Utilization National Council Teachers Mathematics Process Standards within Algebra 1 and Applied Subject Fields practices are necessary requirements for effective instruction. Their importance is illustrated in guidelines produced by several national organizations such as The Interstate New Teacher Assessment Support Consortium (INTASC), Board Professional Teaching (NBPTS), (NCTM). time considered important teachers at grassroots level order them to develop thought-provoking lessons that allow students make connections form meaning well reflect previous improvements subsequent lessons. Collaborative planning also important; however, it usually occurs with respect block schedules, inclusion special education regular classroom, middle school model education. question exists what impact may have high Math classrooms. purpose this study investigate whether amount a or teacher spends planning, individually collaboratively, affects frequency utilization recommended NCTM. population was described secondary (grades 9-12) 1, 2 public schools West Virginia. Data collected using an instructional survey constructed researcher. This utilized ANOVA tests t-tests independent samples determine if differences existed mean use NCTM based length time. Findings indicated who planned longer, both had significantly higher scores. Length resulted when were divided into five process standards. It can be concluded longer times not only contribute strategies but larger variety significant determined statistically occurred scores demographic variables.
