摘要: Abstract Using airborne magnetic and marine gravity data, the geological subdivisions of western Tasmania have been interpreted north across Bass Strait into Victoria. The three westernmost Tasmanian zones, King Island, Rocky Cape Burnie are inferred to form largely concealed Selwyn Block in Eastern Zone correlates with Victorian Tabberabbera Zone. Thus Tamar Fracture corresponds Governor Fault. Ceres Gabbro is correlated rocks west Island that tentatively considered be Neoproterozoic. Most Cambrian felsic volcanic Mount Read Volcanics lie above Zone, as do similar exposed Jamieson, Licola Glen Creek windows central Reinterpretation a deep seismic reflection line indicates equivalent were thrust south-west over equivalents. A link between Victoria evident from Upper Devonian granites intruded region. eastern end Cobaw Complex Warburton Granodiorite contain calcsilicate enclaves derived northern Smithton Basin. Disappointment has high Ni Cr contents pseudomorphs after orthopyroxenes, consistent having partly sourced underlying basaltic like those on margin responses under Strathbogie Complex, Cerberean Caldera Lysterfield attributed metamorphism part an extension Basin, probably equivalents 580 Ma Spinks Volcanics.
