摘要: Employing orthogonal-field-alternation gel electrophoresis (OFAGE), we have separated chromosome-sized DNA molecules from Trypanosoma (Nannomonas) congolense clones, the clones being derived several distinct antigenic repertoires. Trypanosome that belong to a specific repertoire appear chromosome pattern characteristic of particular repertoire. Hybridization chromosomes with cloned fragments encoding variable surface glycoproteins revealed presence two different T.(N.) glycoprotein genes on mini-chromosomes (mc) and modes by which these may be activated: one duplicative other non-duplicative activation.
