摘要: The aims of this study were to identify microorganisms on the surface gutta-percha (GP) cones using a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and evaluate sterilization effect 5.25% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), 2% chlorhexidine (CHX), ChloraPrep these bacteria. Alterations texture physical properties GP cone after chemical compared. A total 150 randomly selected in endodontic clinics, PCR assay was performed contaminating microorganisms. After inoculation with same followed by drying for 1 day, immersed three disinfectants. effects assessed measuring turbidity through subculturing. changes observed scanning electron microscopy, Instron 5500 (Instron Corp, Canton, MA) used measure tensile strength elongation rate sterilization. Statistical analysis performed. Results indicate that 19.4% from clinic contaminated, all species belonged genus Staphylococcus. Three disinfectants effective rapid disinfection against Staphylococcus spp, 1-minute immersion adequate disinfection. Microphotographs NaOCl-soaked showed cluster cuboidal crystals. between NaOCl- CHX-soaked groups significantly different (p 0.05). All increased compared fresh < 0.05), especially (Medi-flex, Leawood, KS). These results show are agents cones. However, further research will be needed determine clinical relevance properties.
