Cephalobus parasiticus n.sp. and “Pseudo-strongyloidiasis” in Macaca irus mordax

摘要: Cephalobus parasiticus is described from eleven out of sixteen young specimens Macacus irus mordax (synonym, M. cynomolgus ) caught in the vicinity Batavia. The species, which strikingly resembles and easily capable being confused with rhabditiform free-living generation Strongyloides , found stomach intestine monkeys but apparently non-pathogenic. This nematode appears to be unable establish itself rat guineapig propagated indefinitely on bouillon agar at room temperature.
