摘要: Background. Bronchiolitis obliterans is the most significant complication adversely affecting prolonged survival of lung allograft recipients. The evolution from initial insult to final pathologic entity largely unknown. aim this study was characterize transplant-induced fibrous airway obliteration in a rat tracheal transplant model bronchiolitis obliterans. Methods. Tracheal segments were transplanted Brown Norway rats (isografts) or Lewis (allografts). Grafts implanted into subcutaneous pouch and an abdominal omental wrap. They harvested at 14 different time points (from 1 day year after transplantation) assessed histologically. Results. developed only allografts showing triphasic course: ischemic phase (observed both isografts allografts) followed by marked lymphocytic infiltrative with complete epithelial loss allografts, P<0.01), finally obliterative lumen (P<0.01). Conclusions. This animal shows distinct reproducible course development lesions allografts. It confirms that mechanism leading immune mediated as showed lesion infiltration precursor model. insights phases demonstrated may lead novel approaches regarding type timing therapeutic interventions.
