摘要: Synopsis The aspheric, one-piece design of the Tecnis® ZCB00 intraocular lens provided higher mesopic contrast sensitivity and relatively constant refraction at different pupil sizes compared to Sensar® AR40e. Purpose Comparing impact on functional vision aspheric spherical AR40e three-piece lens. Setting National Eye Hospital, Cairo, Egypt. Methods In this prospective study, we implanted 32 Tecnis (Abbott Medical Optics, Santa Ana, CA) 30 Sensar (Pharamacia Upjohn LLC, North Peapack, NJ) lenses. Twenty-three patients in group 13 reliable, reproducible data, were therefore included statistical analysis. After 8 weeks, measured photopic (PCS) 85 cd/m(2) (MCS) 5 cd/m(2). Uncorrected best-corrected visual acuity measured. Myopic shift was analyzed by comparing manifest equivalent 3 days weeks after surgery normal dilated pupil. Results showed significantly better MCS than a spatial frequency six cycles per degree (cpd) (P = 0.037), but not 3, 12, or 18 cpd 0.299, P 0.226, 0.396, respectively). There no significant differences between groups corrected distance 0.175) PCS 6, frequencies 0.440, 0.176, 0.365, 0.251, less myopic pupils group, difference significant. Conclusion moderate AR40e, associated with sizes.
