摘要: Aim The study aimed to research the effect of maternal age at pregnancy on paraoxonase (PON) and arylesterase activity levels mothers infants. Method The comprised 30 aged more than 35 years their infants, under 25 infants. All pregnancies had been 38–42 weeks with normal spontaneous vaginal birth. PON activities were measured using paraoxon phenylacetate substrates. Results When enzyme compared, was found be statistically significantly lower compared that (P = 0.006 P 0.03, respectively), while there no significant difference in between two groups infants > 0.05). Conclusion While years, statistical significance This can explained by reduced during an older age, although this did not affect J. Clin. Lab. Anal. 26:302-306, 2012. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
