Case-control study of diet and prostate cancer in a rural population of Faisalabad, Pakistan.

摘要: Background: The effects of diet on epidemiology prostate cancer are inconclusive. Therefore a hospitalbased, case-control study was conducted in rural population Faisalabad, Pakistan, to examine the impact dietary factors risk development. Materials and Methods: This based 102 confirmed cases 204 normal controls. Logistic regression used estimate odds ratios 95% confidence intervals for evaluate relationship between diet. Results: Consumption red meat fat items significantly increased having 3.41; 1.46-7.96 2.45; 1.17-5.15, respectively. On other hand, more consumption vegetables, fluid intake fruit decreased (odd corresponding 0.21; 0.10-0.44, 0.10; 0.05- 0.19 0.09; 0.03- 0.23, Conclusions: present supports hypothesis that frequent may increase while fruit, vegetables protect against relatively low group Pakistan.
