摘要: Summary Objective To transect blood vessels within epiphyseal cartilage canals and observe whether this resulted in ischaemic chondronecrosis, an associated focal delay enchondral ossification [osteochondrosis (OC)] pathological fracture [ osteochondrosis dissecans (OCD)] the distal femur of foals, with potential translational value to pathogenesis juvenile osteochondritis (JOCD) children. Method Ten Norwegian Fjord Pony foals were operated at age 13–15 days. Two supplying growth lateral trochlear ridge left transected each foal. Follow-up examination was carried out from 1 49 days post-operatively included plain radiography, macroscopic histological examination. Results Transection necrosis chondrocytes, i.e., foals. Areas chondronecrosis a (OC) examined 21 or more after transection, (OCD) one foal 42 transection. Conclusion The hypothesis for OC has been reproduced experimentally There are several similarities between OCD animals JOCD It should be investigated also occurs due failure canal supply, followed by chondronecrosis.
