摘要: The xanthophylls lutein and zeaxanthin are oxygenated carotenoids that preferentially accumulate in the macular region of retina. Lutein, zeaxanthin, meso-zeaxanthin (a conversion product formed macula) referred to as pigment. Lutein also present all other ocular structures except vitreous, cornea, sclera; although, their concentrations much lower than region. protect tissues by ability filter damaging blue light antioxidant potential.
