摘要: Chloroquine (CQ) and hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) are well-known 4-aminoquinoline antimalarial agents. Scientific evidence also supports the use of CQ HCQ in treatment cancer. Overall, preclinical studies support anti-cancer therapy, especially combination with conventional treatments since they able to sensitise tumour cells a variety drugs, potentiating therapeutic activity. Thus far, clinical results mostly favour repurposing CQ. However, over 30 still evaluating activity both different cancer types various standard treatments. Interestingly, exert effects on microenvironment. In addition inhibition autophagic flux, which is most studied effect HCQ, these drugs affect Toll-like receptor 9, p53 CXCR4-CXCL12 pathway cells. stroma, was shown vasculature, cancer-associated fibroblasts immune system. The reviewed this paper indicates that deserve further investigations several types. Special attention about drug (CQ versus HCQ), dose schedule administration should be taken design new trials.
