摘要: We conducted a review of the diagnostic accuracy clinical examination for diagnosis cirrhosis. The objectives were: to identify studies assessing in detection cirrhosis; summarize reported physical findings; and define effects study characteristics on estimates accuracy. Studies were identified through electronic literature search MEDLINE (1966 2000), bibliographic references, contact with authors. that evaluated indicants from patients known or suspected liver disease undergoing biopsy included. Qualitative data extracted. Two-by-two tables presence absence findings without cirrhosis created data. Data each combined using Summary Receiver Operating Characteristic (SROC) curves random modeling, as appropriate. Twelve met inclusion criteria, including total 1895 patients, ranging age 3 90 years. Most referral populations elevated aminotransferase levels. Ten signs three more ten only single study. Signs which there was associated high specificity (range 75–98%), but low sensitivity 15–68%) histologically-proven Physical are generally cirrhosis, higher represent decompensated disease. have been undertaken highly selected populations.
