摘要: ABSTRACTPurpose: We evaluated the results of renal transplantation in patients infected with Schistosoma haematobium, as well risks urological complications and post-transplant reinfection.Materials Methods: The outcome 20 kidney transplants was retrospectively studied. Based on our experience review literature, clinical practice to prevent consisted antischistosomal chemotherapy given at pre-transplant evaluation, endovesical ureteroneocystostomy preferred case bladder calcifications. A Foley catheter maintained for 10 days. transurethral neck incision performed before removal when sclerosis present.Results: 1 2-year patient survival rate 93%, graft rates were 88 81%, respectively, which not different from those a cohort 167 without schistosomal infection.
