摘要: Eight patients with thyrotropin (TSH)-secreting pituitary adenoma are described. Serum TSH levels were inappropriately elevated in spite of thyroid hormones. The serum-free glycoprotein alpha-subunit level was all the patients. to molar ratio, a "tumor marker" for TSH-secreting adenoma, ranged from 1.06 6.16. All had macroadenoma and underwent transsphenoidal surgery. Light-microscopic indirect immunoperoxidase method applied on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded specimens revealed beta immunoreactivity adenomas. proportion beta-positive cells 20% 75% cells. Six adenomas (75%) associated growth hormone (GH) and/or prolactine (PRL) immunoreactivity. By double staining method, frequently colocalized same cells, but some found contain either or beta. We also analyzed localization pituitary-specific transcriptional factor, Pit-1, which has been suggested play role functional differentiation toward hormone, prolactine, TSH. cases positive Pit-1 product using antibody against human synthesized peptide. localized nuclei many identified that both prolactine. From our investigations, multidirectional during development suggested.
