摘要: The role of dispersal potential on phylogeographic structure, evidenced by the degree genetic structure and presence coincident biogeographic breaks, was evaluated in a macrogeographic comparative approach along north-central coast Chile, across transition zone at 30°S. Using 2,217 partial sequences mitochondrial Cytochrome Oxidase I gene eight benthic invertebrate species ca. 2,600 km coast, we contrasted with determined concordance between divergence regions Genetic diversity differentiation highly differed high low potential. Dispersal potential, sometimes together region, factor that best explained species. three species, one assigned to category, had discontinuity Furthermore, coalescent analyses based isolation-with-migration model validate split north south 30°S has historic origin. signatures break dispersers is parsimoniously homogenizing effects flow have erased signatures, if ever existed, dispersers. Of four break, only two significant albeit very levels asymmetric migration zone. Historic processes led current marine limited strong lasting impact their structure.
