摘要: Statistical models for flood frequency analysis present refined estimation and validation techniques but do not provide ultimate solutions to when regional analyses are required. More than on specific probabilistic models, in these cases the emphasis is put homogeneity or variability patterns of moments annual maxima. In this paper use climatic ancillary data shown physically-based clues understanding parameters, proves be particularly useful parameters appearing Poisson-derived distributions. With respect analysis, discriminating capability a-priori information also compared here with a classical statistical approach based state-of-the art measure. The latter applied L-moments orders 2 4 former an index average dryness humidity basins. Application 10,000 km region Southern Italy involving 22 gauging stations shows that context index-flood suggests objective criteria aggregation homogeneous regions.
