摘要: Background: Proteases, protease activity and inflammatory molecules in tears have been found to be relevant the pathogenesis of keratoconus. We sought determine influence eye rubbing on expression, concentration tears. Methods: Basal were collected from normal volunteers before after 60 seconds experimental rubbing. The total amount matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-13 interleukin (IL)-6 tumour necrosis factor (TNF)-a tear samples measured using specific enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA). Tear collagenase was investigated a assay. Results: concentrations MMP-13 (51.9 34.3 versus 63 36.8 pg/ml, p = 0.006), IL-6 (1.24 0.98 2.02 1.52 0.004) TNF-a (1.16 0.74 1.44 0.66 0.003) significantly increased subjects rub did not alter (5.02 3 7.50 3.90 fluorescent intensity units, 0.14) Conclusion: Eye for level MMP-13, study subjects. This increase protease, mediators may exacerbated even further during persistent forceful seen people with keratoconus this turn contribute progression disease.
