摘要: Summary Studies of industrial symbiosis (IS) focus on the physical flows materials and energy in local systems. In an ideal IS, waste material are shared or exchanged among actors system, thereby reducing consumption virgin inputs, likewise generation emissions. this study, environmental impacts ecosystem centered around a pulp paper mill operating as IS analyzed using life cycle assessment (LCA). The system is compared with two hypothetical reference systems which would operate isolation. Moreover, further order to identify possibilities for additional links between actors. results show that total upstream processes made greatest overall contribution results. Comparison stand-alone production shows case studied, modest improvements, 5% 20% most impact categories, system. Most benefits occur through heat electricity town. All all it recommended when assessed, occurring should also be not only within ecosystem.
