摘要: Most research on American cranberry in the prevention of urinary tract infection (UTI) has used juices. The spectrum components juice is limited. This study tested whether whole fruit powder (proanthocyanidin content 0.56%) could prevent recurrent UTI 182 women with two or more episodes last year. Participants were randomized to a (n = 89) placebo group (n = 93) and received daily 500 mg for 6 months. number diagnoses was counted. intent-to-treat analyses showed that group, UTIs significantly fewer [10.8% vs. 25.8%, p = 0.04, an age-standardized 12-month history (p = 0.01)]. Kaplan-Meier survival curves experienced longer time first than (p = 0.04). Biochemical parameters normal, there no significant difference phenolics between groups at baseline day180. results show (peel, seeds, pulp) may reduce risk symptomatic UTIs.
