摘要: Intraoral ultrasonography uses high-frequency mechanical waves to study dento-periodontium. Besides the advantages of portability and cost-effectiveness, ultrasound technique has no ionizing radiation. Previous studies employed a single transducer or an array elements, focused on enamel thickness distance measurement. This used phased system with 128-element image dento-periodontal tissues. We studied two porcine lower incisors from 6-month-old piglet using 20-MHz ultrasound. The high-resolution ultrasonographs clearly showed cross-sectional morphological images hard soft investigation integration waveform analysis, travel-time calculation, wavefield simulation reveal nature data, which makes novel. With assistance time-distance radio-frequency records, we robustly justified enamel-dentin interface, dentin-pulp cemento-enamel junction. alveolar crest level, location junction, were measured compared favorably those cone beam computed tomography less than 10% difference. preliminary fundamental reinforced conclusions previous studies, that great potential become non-invasive diagnostic imaging tool for quantitative assessment periodontal structures better delivery oral care.
