摘要: Abstract In recent years, single-use bioreactors have been increasingly used in the pharmaceutical industry. However, no direct comparison between and resuable done at industrial scale. So, aim of this work is to critically compare hydrodynamics a Cultibag STR (SUB) reusable bioreactor (SSB). The operating conditions criteria chosen relation adherent cell cultures. flow structure spatial distribution mechanical stress were characterized using CFD. A CFD-based compartment model was mixing and, finally, trajectories several particles simulated with stochastic obtain circulation residence time distributions zones high stress. Significant differences terms are observed two bioreactors. Because absence baffles, highly tangential compared SSB. As consequence, SUB 2.5 times longer. case animal cultures, usually considered as main limiting factor related hydrodynamics. temporal compared. results show that cells grown will be not only more frequently exposed stress, but also over longer period.
