摘要: We investigated the seed biology of beach clustervine ( Jacquemontia reclinata House [Convolvulaceae]), a federally endangered Florida endemic, through study soil seedbanks, including sampling densities at varying locations and times year, several survival experiments in 2001, 2003, 2006, 2007. Based on core vacuum samples, seeds are present seedbank, with peak abundance occurring late spring early summer beginning rainy season, lowest levels by following dry season (December). Field surface buried bags found evidence ranging from low 3% to high 59%. In 2007 2008, percentage did not vary significantly across 3 sites that span existing range species, nor it correlate total precipitation site this year. Surviving capable subsequent germination, 11% germinating within 6 mo. A tetrazolium test subsample non-germinating 1-y-old 100% were alive. The long-term persistence may decrease extinction risk for because its recruitment niche is common under current environmental conditions.
