摘要: Rapid methods for estimating viability in seeds have been suggested by a number of workers. Most these are dependent upon the increased permeability (6, 10) or decreased reducing power (5, 8) dead cells tissues. Staining involving reduction selenium salts (4) tetrazolium compounds (9, 11) to colored forms action living seem be most promising quick tests viability. These should particularly applicable estimations freezing injury seed corn because: (a) is easily tested (11), (b) immature shows degree dormancy (13) which makes routine laboratory germinability difficult and slow, (c) speed always essential determine whether frozen sufficiently viable justify expensive processing, crop diverted other uses.
