Workaholics and overworkers: productivity or pathology?

摘要: Since the late 1980s, there has been strong popular interest in subject of working hours and so-called workaholic. There less academic literature on long motivations those who work beyond limits what is necessary. This study proposes a typology put excessive time effort by introducing second dimension: equity perceived rewards. The new dimension points to another group alongside workaholics: overworkers. One hundred seventy-four managers professionals with master business administration degrees rated themselves reward dimensions provided data about behaviors, rewards, attitudes, job progression as part longitudinal study. Overworkers workaholics were found differ number dimensions. Implications for these groups, including their potential roles context boundaryless careers, organizations that employ them are discussed.
