摘要: Abstract In this paper a technique is described for estimating the molecular weights of proteins by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Electrophoresis was performed at pH 4.0 in 9 M urea concentrations ranging from 7 to 14% w v . Under these conditions it found that mobility protein varied exponentially as function concentration. Thus, plot log versus concentration resulted straight line. A similar phenomenon recently reported Hedrick and Smith. Based on theoretical considerations ratio two different should be directly related weight protein. practice there an excellent linear relationship between ratios 4% change acrylamide six-point standard curve constructed using seventeen additional were determined. Proteins studied with 12,000 138,000. Most estimates within 5% those literature. The particularly well suited heavy (H) light (L) chains immunoglobulins also flagellins bacterial species. addition, densitometer measurements gels allowed chain composition immunoglobulin molecules
