摘要: Data on 118 Duroc, Yorkshire and reciprocal cross boars were utilized to evaluate the effect of crossbreeding mating behavior. Boars penned with an estrous gilt 2 consecutive days. Number mounts (proper improper), sexual interest score whether a successful occurred recorded. Times at which each these events recorded also, allowing calculation times first mount, final mount completion mating. Most importantly, more crossbred completed than purebred (69 vs 27%). Crossbreds had greater (P less .05), higher proportion properly oriented .05). also began mounting activity (first proper mount; P .05) earlier required time complete boars. Heterosis values for number improper mounts, 2, 53, 32 52%, respectively. Time completing heterosis -34, -29 -20%, Scrotal measures taken 140 168 d post-trial castration, as well excised testes sperm numbers, showed heterosis; however, no consistent associations between traits behavior found. These data suggest that sexually active boars, perhaps due advanced physiological or behavioral stage.
