Does microfinance reduce poverty in Lao PDR

摘要: Purpose – The purpose of this study is to examine whether the village development fund (VDF) program reduces poverty in terms income and expenditure. Design/methodology/approach authors use cross-sectional data that are collected from 361 households 15 villages rural district Sukhuma Champasak province 2012 regression for analysis. Findings estimate empirical model used econometric analysis based on constructed by Coleman (1999). This finds VDF has a positive impact household expenditure but statistically insignificant.
