摘要: Abscisic acid (ABA) is thought to play a role in inhibiting or aborting kernel growth during water deficit. To test the responsiveness of early endosperm development ABA concentrations, cylinders containing (±)ABA buffered agar medium were applied apical pericarp surface kernels on intact, well-watered maize (Zea mays L. cv. Pioneer Brand 3925) plants from 5 11 days after pollination (DAP). Endosperm nuclei analyzed by flow cytometry assess effects cell division and endoreduplication. treatments ≥ 100 µM substantially decreased numbers fresh weight accumulation, but did not affect average size. at 300 proportion size classes 12C, indicating that rate transition endoreduplication status was inhibited, progressive advance 12C 24C 48C, S-phase cycling endoreduplicating cells inhibited. We conclude more responsive concentrations than expansion growth.
